Accountability coaching for Founders, Creatives, Remote Workers, ADHD Brains, and anyone who works independently.

When no one's watching, goals slide. That's just how humans work.

Enter your accountability coach.

Here's how it usually goes. Sunday night, you're full of resolve. This is the week you actually make progress on what matters.

Sun
"This time, for real."
Mon
Inbox eats Monday.
Wed
Wait, what was the plan?
Fri
"I'll catch up Saturday." (You won't.)
Sun
"This time, for real."

Funny how that keeps happening, right? It's not because you're lazy or don't care. Procrastination usually has subtler roots: perfectionism, fear of failure, putting too much faith in tomorrow-you. It compounds when you're trying to do all of this without anyone to answer to.

Here's what's going on. When someone is waiting for you (a boss, a client, a deadline at work), you show up. You're being held accountable, so the work gets done. The email gets sent. The meeting happens. You almost never miss the deadlines you owe to other people. But the ones you owe yourself (the passion project, the goal you set in January)? Those slide, because nobody's on the other end. Nobody notices when you don't.

And that's assuming you even had a plan to start with. For most of us, the weekly "plan" is mostly a Post-it and aggressive optimism.

There are two things missing, then: a plan that survives the week, and someone making sure you do it.

That's what an accountability coach is. Someone whose entire job is the two things you're missing: building the plan with you (with achievable milestones along the way), and making sure you actually stick to it. Basically: a boss, but for your own goals. That's what we're here for.

What is an accountability coach?

An accountability coach is someone you hire to make sure you actually do the things you said you'd do.

Not a therapist

They help you work through what's going on inside. We help you work through what's on your list.

Not a life coach

They help you figure out what you want from life. We help you figure out what you're doing this week, so you can hit your goal this quarter.

Not a business consultant

They give you a marketing plan. We give you a weekly plan you'll actually follow.

An accountability coach is the person who looks at what you said you'd do today, asks if you did it, and pushes back if the answer is no. They notice when you're slipping, call you out when you're making excuses, and push you to do a bit more than you'd push yourself.

Different people procrastinate for different reasons. A good accountability coach figures out which kind of structure and support actually moves you, then tailors the approach to your personality and the challenges you keep hitting.

The best accountability coaches do three things: help you make a real plan, check in often enough that you can't quietly ghost it, and adjust the plan when life happens. This looks deceptively simple, but it's the difference between "another year of half-finished projects" and "wait, I actually did it."

How accountability coaching works at Boss as a Service

A clear plan + daily accountability = a successful week. We make sure you have both.

Person on a strategy call with their accountability coach
1.

Start the week with a killer plan

Every week, you get on a strategy call with your coach (your "Boss") to build a Plan of Action. We ask the questions you don't think to ask yourself: What's the actual first step? What could derail this? Wait, don't you have that big launch this week? Together, vague intentions become a concrete plan.

2.

Daily check-ins: we make sure you follow through

Your Boss checks in every day, morning and evening, Monday through Saturday. If you fall off track, we pull you back. If you get distracted by a new shiny object, we remind you of your goal. If you have a bad day, we help you recover. If you slack off, expect a message.

Your Boss reviewing your week and writing the recap
3.

Weekly review & adjust

End-of-week call with your Boss to celebrate wins, debrief misses, and adjust anything that needs tweaking. Your Boss keeps a running record of your progress (patterns, what's working, what's not) and uses it to make next week's plan sharper than the last one.

Is an accountability coach right for you?

Boss as a Service is for ambitious professionals with a goal, a follow-through gap, and the self-awareness to admit it. That includes:

If you've ever caught yourself thinking "I just need someone to make me do this," we're the someone.

Accountability coach vs. accountability apps

Apps are great until the day you decide to ignore them. And that day always comes. Here's the difference:

What you getAppsBaaS (human coach)
Daily reminders
Custom weekly plan
Someone who follows up when you don't respond to our daily reminders❌ (a notification doesn't care)
Someone who calls you out and pushes you to do more than you would alone
Adjusts when life happens
Knows the difference between "busy" and "avoiding it"
Knows what else is going on: your launch this week, your travel next month

Accountability coach vs. traditional 1-on-1 coaches

Traditional executive coaches and business coaches focus on business growth strategy and charge $300–$1,000 per coaching session. But they're not built for the gap between sessions, which is where most goals die.

Traditional coachBaaS
Strategy & insight✅ (often monthly)✅ (every week)
Between-session accountability✅ (daily check-ins)
Cost$300–$1,000+ per session$100–$200 per month
Catches the Wednesday slump❌ (next session might be weeks away)✅ (they hear from you tomorrow morning)
Long-term contract pressureOftenCancel anytime

We built BaaS for the part most coaching skips: the work between sessions. From start to finish, our expert coaches make the plan with you, push you to do it every day, and high-five you when you cross the finish line.

Accountability coach vs. partner vs. life coach vs. therapist

It's easy to mix these up. Here's a one-look guide to what each actually does:

RoleWhat they doTypical costBest for
Accountability coach Plans the week with you and makes sure you actually do it $100–$500/mo People who want the best chance of making it: help with both planning and doing
Accountability partner Peer check-ins. Works when both people stay consistent (which is the hard part). Free People with a friend who has the same goals AND the same follow-through energy
Life coach Helps you figure out what you want from life $200–$1,000/session People wrestling with direction, not execution
Therapist Helps you process emotional / mental-health patterns $100–$300/session People doing inner work: mental health, emotions, or how they got here

Some people benefit from more than one: a therapist and an accountability coach is a common stack. They solve different problems.

An accountability coach costs less than a coffee a day

Look back at this year and realize you actually did it. (For coffee money.)

Super Procrastinator

What people say about their accountability coach

Real humans. Real goals. Real results.

★★★★★

I tried working with almost a dozen accountability coaches before, but BaaS is definitely my favorite. Now I feel like I can do anything, as long as I have my Boss to commit to.

★★★★★

If you're anything like me, you're good at making plans, but not at following through. Boss as a Service is just brilliant at helping me focus on what is important.

★★★★★

I used to say "if I could just be more consistent, I'd be the best." The Boss program is like working with the coach from a great audiobook — except real, and very demanding. If you need a kick in the ass, I highly recommend it.

Why accountability coaches work

The likelihood of an average person meeting their goals on motivation alone is just 25%. With an accountability coach, the probability of completing a task or goal increases to 95%.

95%

Making a specific plan (knowing exactly what you'll do and when) doubles your odds of follow-through. Daily check-ins turn that plan into a habit. And habits, not motivation, are what carry you through the slumps and over the long haul. Research also links effective goal-setting to higher motivation, more success, and a stronger sense of self: every week you make and keep a real commitment, you trust yourself a little more.

Accountability coaching: frequently asked questions

What is an accountability coach?

An accountability coach is someone you hire to make sure you actually do what you said you'd do. They help you break down your goal into achievable milestones, build a realistic weekly plan, check in daily to keep you on it, and adjust when life happens. At Boss as a Service, we call them Bosses. Their entire job is making sure the goal you set in January isn't the one you've quietly abandoned by February.

What does an accountability coach actually do?

Specifically at Boss as a Service: a weekly strategy call to map out the week, daily check-ins (over text) so the plan doesn't quietly drift, and a weekly review to debrief what worked, celebrate the wins, and adjust for the next week. Over time, as the coaching relationship deepens, your Boss notices the old patterns and blind spots: what excuses you tend to reach for, what kind of nudge actually moves you (different for everyone), and where you tend to slip when life gets busy.

How much does an accountability coach cost?

Our coaching plans start at $100/month (Super) and $200/month (Virtuoso). That's the full package: a strategy call where we plan your week together so you have full clarity, daily check-ins, and a review call to debrief what worked.

Traditional 1-on-1 coaches charge $300–$1,000 per coaching session. Pure accountability apps cost $0–$15/month but skip the human and the planning. We're the best of both: the planning and human touch of a coach, the daily check-ins of an app (except way more powerful, because they come from a real human, with the social accountability and context only another person can give you).

Is an accountability coach worth it?

Honestly, planning a goal and then actually executing on it, all on your own, is hard. Most people don't manage it consistently, even when they're trying.

If you just want a daily check-in to keep yourself honest, our Starter plan is built for that.

If you want help with the planning and the follow-through, that's exactly what an accountability coach is for. So yes, we think it's worth it, assuming the goal actually matters to you. The research backs us up (138 studies and counting), and our Wall of Love is full of people who'd agree.

What's the difference between an accountability coach and an accountability partner?

An accountability partner is usually a peer (a friend, a colleague) who checks in with you mutually, often unpaid. It works when both people are equally committed and equally consistent. It tends to fall apart because, well, both of you are humans with the same problem.

An accountability coach is a trained professional. They're friendly, but they're not your friend, which means they can push back harder when you go quiet on a Tuesday. There's no friendship to protect. What they care about is whether you hit your goal. That's their actual job.

Can an accountability coach help with ADHD?

Yes. A lot of our users have ADHD, and research consistently shows that external structure is one of the strongest tools for managing it. Daily check-ins from a real person put the plan outside your head, past the mental clutter, where it can't quietly disappear when your attention wanders off. We're not a substitute for medication or therapy if you need those. But we're the structure that holds the day together, especially on the days when that's hardest. Plenty of ADHD users have shared their stories on our Wall of Love.

Can I hire an accountability coach online?

Yes, that's the only way we work. Calls happen over video, check-ins happen over text. We have users from California to London to Sydney, and we'll match you with a coach whose hours line up with yours.

Is this AI? Will I be talking to a chatbot?

No. Your Boss is always a real person, with a grocery list, a plan for Saturday, and a strong opinion about your excuses. We're not AI or bots.

How long are the coaching calls?

On Super, you get 60 minutes of call time per month. On Virtuoso, 2 hours. You can split that however works best: weekly 30-minute coaching sessions, biweekly hour-long ones, or one longer monthly session. We'll figure out the right cadence with you once you start.

Are there long-term contracts?

None. Monthly subscription, cancel anytime, no guilt-trip. We also offer quarterly (20% off) and yearly (33% off) billing if you'd rather lock in the lower price.

What if I miss a check-in?

Your Boss will follow up. They'll help you reset, figure out what's stopping you, and hold you accountable again. Because we don't want one missed day to become a missed goal.

If you want extra accountability, you can pair us with a service like Beeminder or stickK. They'll charge you real money if you fail to hit your goal, and your Boss can be the referee who reports back whether you did. Since you check in with us every day, we already know.

How do I find the right accountability coach for me?

When you sign up, we'll match you with a dedicated coach based on timezone and availability. If you have any specific requests, let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate. If the coaching relationship doesn't click, we'll switch you.

I have more questions. How do I contact you?

Message the team and we'll answer anything before you commit.

Stop planning. Start doing.

Real accountability from real humans. Pick a plan and let's get to work.
